Other tools you may find usefulHow to Use the Ozon Profit Calculator
The Ozon profit calculator answers two basic questions: how much of the sale price the commission takes and how much you actually keep on one sold unit. The tool runs in your browser and by default calculates everything in rubles (₽). You fill in four fields and see the result right away.
- Enter the sale price, meaning the amount the buyer pays.
- Enter the commission rate as a percentage.
- Enter the FBO logistics cost for one unit.
- Enter the cost of goods, meaning what it cost you to acquire that unit.
The results are Commission as an amount and Profit per unit. For the default values — price 2,000 ₽, commission 18%, FBO logistics 90 ₽, and cost of goods 900 ₽ — the commission is 2,000 times 18 divided by 100, or 360.00 ₽, and the profit is 2,000 minus 360.00 minus 90 minus 900, or 650.00 ₽.
The values in the fields are only a starting point. Replace them with your own numbers, and the result will immediately show how selling profitability changes.
How to Enter Price, Commission, and FBO Logistics
Price is the amount the buyer pays for the product. Enter it in the settlement currency — by default, rubles. If it is easier for you to calculate in another currency, simply enter values in that currency and read the result in the same currency.
Commission % is the percentage the platform takes from the sale price. Enter the rate assigned to your category. The field is editable, and 18% is only a default example — check current rates in the platform's latest pricing, because they change over time and vary by category.
FBO logistics is the amount related to shipping and handling an order under the FBO model. Enter it as a cost per unit, not for the whole batch. Treat the default 90 ₽ as a starting point too, because the real cost depends on dimensions, weight, and the price list.
All fields are filled in manually, so you can calculate a conservative and an optimistic scenario, then compare both results.
How to Include Cost of Goods and Other Expenses
Cost of goods is everything you paid to have that one unit on hand: purchase from the supplier, transport to the warehouse, customs, and packaging. The simplest approach is to add up those items and enter one amount per unit. The more accurate the number, the closer the final profit is to reality.
The calculator uses a simple formula: profit = price minus commission minus FBO logistics minus cost of goods. It does not include other fixed fees, taxes, discounts, or thresholds. If you want to account for additional costs, you have two options:
- add them to the cost of goods when you incur them on every unit, such as polybagging or labels,
- subtract them from the profit result manually when they are fixed or periodic costs, such as a software subscription.
That way, you can see profit after all costs, not just profit at the transaction level.
Which Ozon Fees to Leave Out or Add Manually
The calculator intentionally uses only four components: price, commission, FBO logistics, and cost of goods. Anything beyond that list, you add yourself. The table below shows where to look for the missing items.
| Item | Included in the calculator | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Sales commission | yes | enter the percentage rate |
| FBO logistics | yes | enter the amount per unit |
| Product purchase cost | yes | enter the amount per unit |
| Storage fees | no | add manually or include in cost of goods |
| Ads and promotions | no | add manually |
| Returns and claims | no | add as an average cost per unit |
| Taxes and accounting | no | add manually based on your situation |
| Currency conversion and exchange rates | no | factor in manually if you withdraw funds in another currency |
Treat the result as a reference point for purchasing and pricing decisions. When you compare two products, enter the same assumptions for each so that the difference in profit comes from the product, not from different rates.
Tool Limitations and What It Does Not Calculate
The Ozon profit calculator is a simple per-unit calculation. It does not account for fees that are not in the fields: storage fees, ads, discounts and promotions, return costs, taxes, accounting costs, insurance, or currency conversion. It also does not know your individual settlement terms or the rates assigned to a specific category.
The result is therefore approximate, but exactly as good as the data you enter. When you want to be sure you are calculating with current rates, check the platform's pricing and your selling terms, then enter those numbers into the fields.
When it is especially worth being cautious in interpreting the result:
- when you enter rates from memory instead of current pricing,
- when the cost of goods does not include transport, customs, and packaging,
- when you sell in several categories with different rates,
- when you have fixed costs that cannot be assigned to one unit.
The most informative approach is to calculate three scenarios: conservative, realistic, and optimistic. Change one field at a time and watch how profit changes — you will quickly see which cost eats into margin the most.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate profit on Ozon for one unit?
Enter the price, commission percentage, FBO logistics cost, and cost of goods. The calculator subtracts the commission amount, logistics, and cost of goods from the price and shows the remaining amount as profit.
How much is the Ozon commission?
It depends on your category and the current pricing, so check the rate in your seller account and the platform's latest pricing. In the calculator, the commission field is editable, and 18% is only the default value.
Does the calculator include taxes, ads, and storage?
No, it calculates only four components: price, commission, FBO logistics, and cost of goods. Add taxes, ads, storage, and other fees to the result manually.
Can I calculate in a currency other than rubles?
Yes. By default, the tool calculates in rubles, but you can enter your own rates in any currency and read the result in that same currency.
What should I enter for FBO logistics?
Enter the amount you pay to ship and handle one unit under FBO. If the price list has ranges based on dimensions or weight, calculate a separate scenario for the smallest and largest package.
How do I calculate percentage margin on Ozon?
Divide profit by price and multiply by 100%. With the default example, 650.00 ₽ divided by 2,000 ₽ equals a 32.5% margin per unit.
