How to use the Depop fee calculator

The Depop fee calculator works out how much you keep from a single sale. Enter the item price and the rates, and you immediately see two numbers: Fees and Payout. You do not need to register or install anything — the tool runs in your browser.

Here is how to do it step by step:

  1. In the Price field, enter the amount you are selling the item for. The default is 30.
  2. Check the Depop fee % and Payments % fields. The defaults are 10 and 2.9 — you can change them to your own rates.
  3. In the Fixed field, enter the fixed fee added to the transaction. The default is 0.3.
  4. Read the results: Fees shows how much the calculator's fees take, and Payout shows how much is left for you.

Amounts are in US dollars, the platform's currency. If you want to calculate in another currency, simply enter the prices and fees in the same currency — the math does not change. The calculation runs locally on your device and is not sent anywhere.

How to set the Depop fee, payments, and fixed fee

The fields are not locked — the values you see are just a starting point. Rates on platforms change, so before you calculate, check Depop's current pricing and your transaction summary.

The result is made up of three parts:

  • Depop fee % — the percentage of the sale value that the platform charges.
  • Payments % — the percentage related to payment processing.
  • Fixed — the amount added to the transaction regardless of the item price.

Together it looks like this: Fees = Price × (Depop fee % + Payments %) ÷ 100 + Fixed. It does not matter how you split the percentages between those two fields; what matters is their sum plus the fixed amount.

The fixed fee is important because it is added once per transaction. For cheap items, it therefore weighs relatively more than for expensive ones, and at high prices it fades into the background. It is worth checking a few price scenarios before you settle on your price.

How to calculate your payout from a sale

The payout is the sale price minus all the fees the calculator includes: Payout = Price − Fees. That is the part left on the seller's side before costs the tool does not know about.

See it with the default numbers — price 30, Depop fee 10%, payments 2.9%, fixed 0.3:

ComponentCalculationAmount
Depop fee 10%30 × 10 ÷ 100$3.00
Payments 2.9%30 × 2.9 ÷ 100$0.87
Fixed feeamount added once$0.30
Total fees3.00 + 0.87 + 0.30$4.17
Payout30 − 4.17$25.83

You can see how the deductions break down: the percentage fee makes up the largest part, and the fixed fee adds its own amount regardless of price. If you want to check whether a given price makes sense, change it in the calculator and compare how the payout changes with your rates.

Shipping costs, taxes, and extra fees omitted from the calculator

The Depop fee calculator calculates three things: the platform fee, the payment fee, and the fixed amount. That is not a full cost calculation, so treat the result as a starting point, not your final profit.

What it does not include:

  • Shipping and packaging — if you pay for shipping, you need to subtract that cost yourself.
  • Taxes — how you report and pay tax depends on your situation and business setup, and the calculator does not know your rate.
  • Promoting listings — boosts, refreshing, and ads are extra costs beyond the regular fee.
  • Returns and claims — a return is not only a lost sale, but sometimes also the cost of return shipping.
  • Cost of goods and running your sales — buying inventory, packaging, supplies, accounting, subscriptions, equipment.
  • Currency conversion and exchange-rate differences — if you sell in US dollars but receive or spend money in another currency, the real result depends on the exchange rate and conversion fees.
  • Withdrawal fees — some payout methods may charge an extra fee.

If you want to estimate your actual earnings, subtract from the payout all the items that apply to your sale. Only that result shows whether an offer is really worthwhile.

Calculator limitations and checking current Depop rates

The Depop fee calculator is a calculator, not a source of current pricing. It calculates only what it finds in the fields, so its result is only as accurate as the rates you enter.

Limitations to keep in mind:

  • The default rates are estimates and editable — do not treat them as binding pricing.
  • It does not include taxes, shipping costs, promotions, returns, the cost of goods, or currency exchange rates.
  • It does not know your individual terms, discounts, or thresholds that may apply in your case — the tool has no such mechanisms.
  • The result is an estimate until you replace the default values with your own.
  • It does not save results or keep a calculation history — if you want to return to a result, save it yourself.
  • It does not connect to your seller account or pull transaction data.

How to check rates: go to Depop's help center and your own sale summary, where you can see the deductions for a specific transaction. Enter the confirmed values in the calculator fields — from that point, you are calculating with your real data instead of rough defaults.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate Depop fees on a sale?

Add the fee rate and the payment fee rate together, multiply the price by that sum, divide the result by 100, and add the fixed fee. For the default values, it looks like this: 30 × (10 + 2.9) ÷ 100 + 0.3 = 4.17, so the fees are $4.17.

How much is the Depop fee?

In the calculator, you will find 10% as the default value, but that is only a starting point — rates change and can depend on the details of a transaction. Check Depop's current pricing and enter the confirmed rate in the appropriate field.

How do you calculate your payout from a Depop sale?

Subtract the fees from the sale price. The calculator does it for you: for a price of 30 and the default rates, it shows $4.17 in fees and $25.83 payout. Remember that this is the amount before shipping costs, taxes, and other expenses.

Does the Depop fee calculator send my data to a server?

No. The calculation runs locally in your browser, and nothing is sent anywhere. You do not need to provide personal data or create an account.

Does the calculator include shipping costs and taxes?

No. It only calculates the Depop fee, the payment fee, and the fixed amount that you enter. Shipping costs, taxes, promoting listings, and returns are added separately, ideally based on your own records.

What currency does the Depop fee calculator use?

By default, it uses US dollars, the platform's currency. Because you enter prices and rates yourself, you can calculate in any currency — just make sure all amounts are in the same currency.

Depop and payment rates are estimates and may vary by country and payment method. Check Depop's current pricing before you sell.
