Other tools you may find usefulHow to Use the TikTok Shop GMV Calculator
The TikTok Shop GMV calculator turns three numbers into the two sales metrics that matter most: order count and gross merchandise value (GMV), shown per day and per month. Everything runs in your browser, so you do not have to save or send anything.
You enter three values:
- Views / day – how many times your videos, livestreams, or product pages are seen on a typical day; the default is 50,000.
- Conversion % – the share of those views that result in an order; the default is 1.
- AOV – average order value, or how much a buyer spends per order on average; the default is 18.
You immediately get three results: orders per day, GMV per day, and GMV per month. With the default values, it looks like this: 50,000 views at 1% conversion gives 500 orders per day; 500 orders at an AOV of 18 gives $9,000.00 in GMV per day; and multiplied by 30 days, that is $270,000.00 in GMV per month.
Amounts are displayed in dollars because that is a common settlement currency for this market. Treat the symbol as a unit, though: when you enter your own numbers, you can calculate in any currency.
How to Choose Views and Conversion
The reliability of the result depends mostly on how honestly you choose the two input numbers: views and conversion.
Views. Do not base your estimate on one unusually successful video. It is better to average the last several days or weeks and check whether viewers find your content fairly evenly. If you have promotional days and quiet days, use the average that describes a typical day.
Conversion. This is the percentage of views that turn into orders. Calculate it like this: conversion = orders ÷ views × 100%. If 50,000 views produce 500 orders, conversion is 1%.
It is worth testing a few scenarios. Check what happens when views fall and what happens when you improve conversion. Comparing those scenarios shows which lever affects your result more: more traffic or better selling effectiveness. For the calculator, however, enter values that are realistic for your shop, not the ones you hope to reach.
What Is AOV and How Do You Calculate It?
AOV stands for average order value. Put simply, it is the average amount one buyer leaves with you in a single order.
Calculate it like this: AOV = total order value ÷ number of orders. If you sold $9,000.00 worth of goods in 500 orders in a given period, your average order value is 18.
AOV is affected by several things:
- your product prices,
- whether customers buy single items or bundles,
- add-ons and complementary products offered at checkout,
- discounts and promotions that lower the average order amount.
One AOV for the whole shop is convenient, but it is not very precise when you sell products at very different price points, such as low-priced accessories and high-ticket equipment. In that case, calculate the average separately for your most important categories and enter the value that matches the sales you want to analyze.
How to Interpret Daily and Monthly GMV
GMV is the sales value generated by your content — in other words, the total value of orders in a given period. The calculator gives you two views: daily and monthly.
The daily result shows the scale of a single day of sales. With the default values, that is $9,000.00 across 500 orders. This number is useful when you plan daily order handling, packing, and shipping, or when you want to judge whether a specific video or livestream is actually driving sales.
The monthly result is the same value multiplied by 30 days, or $270,000.00. Treat it as a benchmark for inventory planning, supplier conversations, and setting goals for the next month. Keep in mind that the 30-day multiplier is a rough average assumption — months usually have 30 or 31 days, and sales rarely spread perfectly evenly.
The most useful approach is to compare scenarios: what happens to GMV if views increase, and what happens if you improve conversion. That quickly shows you where to look for upside.
Limitations: What the Calculator Does Not Count
The calculator only calculates what follows from the numbers you enter — orders and sales value. It is not a profit tool, and it intentionally does not include a whole list of items you need to remember when planning shop finances:
- platform fees and commissions,
- advertising costs, creator partnerships, and promotions,
- cost of goods, packaging, and shipping,
- returns, canceled orders, and claims,
- taxes and other public charges,
- current exchange rates and the platform's current pricing,
- your individual commercial terms and discounts.
So treat the result as an approximate starting point, not a payout forecast. GMV describes sales value, not the amount that stays in your pocket. Before you decide to order inventory or increase your ad budget, compare the result with the platform's current pricing, your costs, and your returns history. You enter all the numbers yourself, so you can quickly recalculate your shop for different rates and see how the sales picture changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is GMV in TikTok Shop?
GMV is the total value of orders placed in a given period, meaning sales expressed in money rather than units. In the calculator, it is calculated from views, conversion, and average order value. It is a measure of sales scale, not profit.
How do you calculate TikTok Shop GMV?
First calculate orders: multiply views by conversion and divide by 100. Then multiply the number of orders by average order value. The calculator does this for you and immediately shows the daily and monthly result.
Does the TikTok Shop GMV calculator show profit?
No, it shows sales value, or GMV. Profit requires subtracting cost of goods, platform fees, advertising, shipping, returns, and taxes. Those items are not part of the calculator, so treat the result as a starting point for further calculations.
What conversion rate should I enter?
Enter your real conversion rate, calculated as orders divided by views and multiplied by 100%. It is best to use an average from the last several days or weeks. The default value, 1%, is only a starting example.
Does the calculator include TikTok Shop commissions and costs?
No, the calculator does not include any fee rates, commissions, ad costs, taxes, returns, or cost of goods. It calculates only orders and GMV from the data you enter. Check current rates in the platform's pricing.
How do I calculate GMV in a currency other than dollars?
The amounts in the calculator are displayed in dollars, but treat the symbol as a unit. Enter views, conversion, and average order value in your chosen currency, and read the results in that same currency. That way you can calculate sales for any market.
