How to practice the multiplication table?
- start with a range up to 25(numbers 1-5), then go to the full table up to 100,
- practice one number at a time- choose e.g. "only × 7", until examples with seven become a habit,
- learn in the right order:first ×1, ×2, ×5 and ×10 (the easiest patterns), then ×3, ×4 and ×9, finally ×6, ×7 and ×8,
- finish with thetest - 20 timed questions will show whether the material really works; we save the result as your record,
- also practicedivision- it's the same table backwards and the best test of understanding.
Test mode - school grades
The test consists of 20 random examples from a selected range. At the end, you will see the percentage of correct answers, the solving time and the grade according to the school scale: 100% - excellent, from 90% - very good, from 75% - good, from 60% - satisfactory. We display incorrect examples with correct results so that we can repeat them immediately. The best score for each setting is saved on your device.
Tricks to make multiplication easier
- ×9 on fingers:bend the finger with the multiplier number - fingers on the left are tens, on the right are ones (7×9: bend 7th finger → 63),
- ×4 is doubling the doubling:7×4 = 7×2×2 = 14×2 = 28,
- ×5 is half of ×10:8×5 = 80÷2 = 40,
- commutativity:3×8 = 8×3 - you just need to know half the table!

Thanks tocommutativity(3 × 8 = 8 × 3), the table is symmetrical about the diagonal, so you only really need to remember half of it - 45 unique results instead of 100. On the diagonal liesquares(1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100), which are worth learning separately because they often appear in geometry and make it easier to estimate roots.
