Other tools you may find usefulHow to Use the TikTok Shop Fee Calculator
The TikTok Shop Fee Calculator helps you see what you'll keep from a single sale after deducting the platform commission and the creator or affiliate commission. The math runs locally in your browser on the values you enter — nothing is sent to or saved on a server.
How to use it step by step:
- In the Price field, enter the amount you sell the product for. The default is 25.
- In the Commission % field, enter the platform commission rate. The default is 8.
- In the Creator / affiliate commission % field, enter the rate paid to the creator or affiliate. The default is 12.
- Read the results: Commission, Creator / affiliate commission, and Net.
You can edit all three fields. The default currency is US dollars ($), but because you enter the price and rates yourself, you can calculate in any currency — just keep the price and results in the same currency.
The tool does not connect to your seller account or TikTok Shop dashboard. It works only with what you enter manually, so you can test any scenario in seconds.
How to Set Commission and Affiliate Rates in TikTok Shop
Commission and affiliate commission are two different things, and the calculator treats them as separate fields.
- Commission % — the rate the platform charges on your sale. It depends on factors such as product category, seller program, and the current fee schedule.
- Creator / affiliate commission % — the rate you pay as a seller to the creator or affiliate who referred your product. In practice, you set it as part of your collaboration.
The values 8 and 12 pre-filled in the tool are just starting points to give you somewhere to begin. They are not fixed platform fees — you can change them to the rates that apply to your situation.
How to set them in practice:
- Check your seller dashboard for the current fee schedule and the rate for your category.
- Enter that rate in the Commission % field.
- Decide whether you sell with creators or affiliates. If not, enter zero in the Creator / affiliate commission % field.
- If you do collaborate, enter the rate you actually offer creators.
- Compare the net result across several rate scenarios before settling on a final offer.
Rates and rules change over time, and the tool does not fetch them automatically. Before you make a pricing decision, always check the platform's current fee schedule.
How to Calculate Net Payout from a TikTok Shop Sale
Net is the amount you keep from the price after deducting the platform commission and affiliate commission. The formulas are simple:
- Commission = price × (Commission % ÷ 100)
- Creator / affiliate commission = price × (Creator / affiliate commission % ÷ 100)
- Net = price × (1 - (Commission % + Creator / affiliate commission %) ÷ 100), or price - Commission - Creator / affiliate commission
Example using the default values — price $25, commission 8%, creator / affiliate commission 12%:
- Commission: $25 × 0.08 = $2.00
- Creator / affiliate commission: $25 × 0.12 = $3.00
- Net: $25 - $2.00 - $3.00 = $20.00
The $20.00 result is what remains after those two fees. It is not your profit yet, because it does not subtract product cost, shipping, or taxes. The limitations section explains exactly what is missing.
The same pattern works for any other price and any other rate. Change the values and the net result updates immediately, so you can compare scenarios easily.
Calculator Limitations and What It Doesn't Include
The calculator only calculates three things: commission, creator / affiliate commission, and the net amount after them. It intentionally ignores everything else, so treat the result as a starting point, not a complete profit statement.
- It does not add taxes or accounting costs.
- It does not account for shipping, packaging, or logistics costs.
- It does not subtract the cost of buying or making the product.
- It does not account for returns, refunds, or customer service costs.
- It does not calculate discounts, coupons, or promotions.
- It does not include any other platform fees beyond the two percentage rates you enter yourself.
- It does not convert currencies or know current exchange rates.
- It does not pull current rates, categories, or thresholds from the platform.
That means the result is especially approximate when you sell in several categories with different rates, run discount campaigns, pay real shipping and return costs, or handle taxes in your jurisdiction. In those cases, calculate the extra items outside the calculator, then judge profitability.
Also remember that the tool does not create a calculation history and does not connect to your seller account. You work with the current values in the form each time.
Current TikTok Shop US Rates and Categories
TikTok Shop US rates are not one-size-fits-all. They depend on product category, the program you sell in, the current fee schedule, and any promotions. That's why we don't list specific numbers here — you enter your own rates in the tool anyway.
Where to check current rates:
- Log in to your TikTok Shop seller dashboard.
- Open the fees and pricing section.
- Find the rate for your category and any promotional rate information.
- Check whether your seller program has additional conditions.
- Enter the rate you find in the Commission % field and calculate net again.
Categories can be billed differently — for example, electronics, apparel, beauty, and food products may each work differently. The differences affect not only rates but also whether you can sell in a category at all and whether extra requirements apply. Check those rules in the platform's current fee schedule and terms as well.
It's worth returning to the calculator whenever rates change. Entering a new value takes a moment, and you immediately see how the net amount changes and whether your price still makes sense.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate TikTok Shop US commission?
Multiply the price by the commission rate and divide the result by 100. At a $25 price and an 8% rate, that's $2.00. The calculator does the same when you enter both values.
How much commission does TikTok Shop charge in the US?
There is no single fixed number for everyone, because the rate depends on category, seller program, and the current fee schedule. The tool defaults to 8%, but that is only a starting value — enter the rate that applies to your category.
What's the difference between platform commission and affiliate commission?
Platform commission is the fee charged on your sale, while affiliate commission is the payment to the creator or affiliate who referred the product. In the calculator they are two separate fields, so you can set them independently.
How much do you keep from a $25 sale on TikTok Shop US?
At the default 8% and 12% rates, you keep $20.00: $2.00 goes to commission and $3.00 goes to creator commission. That is the amount after those two fees, before taxes, shipping, and product cost.
Does the calculator include taxes, shipping, and product cost?
No. The tool calculates only commission, creator / affiliate commission, and the net amount left after them. You need to add taxes, shipping, returns, discounts, and product cost separately.
Can I use a currency other than US dollars?
Yes. The tool defaults to US dollars, but percentage rates do not depend on currency. If you enter a price in another currency, the results will also be in that currency — just don't mix currencies in the same calculation.
