How to Draw a Signature and Set the Color and Line Thickness

When you open the page, “✍️ Draw Signature” mode is active, so you can start right away. The steps are simple:

1. Make sure drawing mode is selected — next to it, you’ll find the second option, “📷 Upload Scan / Photo.”
2. In the “Color” field, keep black or switch to blue. Black works for most documents; blue can look closer to a pen signature.
3. Use the “Thickness” slider to set the line from 1 to 8. The default is 3, and it looks good in most cases.
4. Sign in the white drawing area — with your finger on a phone, a stylus on a tablet, or a mouse on a computer. A single click also leaves a mark, so the dot over an “i” won’t get lost.
5. Undo a mistake with “↶ Undo,” and clear the whole drawing with “Clear.”

The drawing keeps its scale no matter the window size, so if you resize the browser or rotate your phone, the lines won’t shift or disappear. Sign calmly, at your own pace, and you can undo every stroke.

How to Upload a Signature Scan or Photo and Remove the Background

Have your signature on paper? Switch to “📷 Upload Scan / Photo” mode and choose one image file from your device. Right below the file picker, you’ll find the “Remove scan background and noise” option — it’s checked by default because it gives the cleanest result in most cases: only the signature remains, and the paper background disappears.

Uncheck it only if you want to keep the original look of the scan, for example when there’s a stamp or print next to the signature that should stay visible.

What improves the result:

• even, bright lighting without shadows from your hand or a lamp,
• white or plain paper under the signature,
• a signature that fills most of the frame without extra margin,
• a sharp photo — blurry lines are harder to clean from the background.

The file is not sent anywhere; all processing happens in your browser, on your device.

How to Choose the KB Limit, Maximum Width, and JPG/PNG Format

Three settings determine how the finished file looks and how much it weighs.

The rule is simple: the smaller the maximum width, the smaller the file. However, reducing it too much can blur thin lines, so with a low limit, draw the signature with a thicker line or choose a sharper scan.

After you change the limit, the button text immediately shows the new value, for example “Prepare signature (< 10 KB).” You’ll start preparing the file with that button. It also works without an uploaded file because in drawing mode the signature is created from scratch.

Tool Limitations and What It Does Not Calculate

This is an image tool, not a calculator — it does not run calculations or create reports. Its job is to prepare a signature file that fits within the limit you set.

• One file at a time. There’s no batch mode, so you’ll prepare multiple signatures one by one.
• It doesn’t check the recipient’s requirements. The tool will fit the file to your limit, but it doesn’t know what size, format, and dimensions a specific form, office, or service requires. Check that yourself before sending.
• This is not an electronic signature. You get an image with a handwritten signature, without identity verification and without the legal effect of a qualified electronic signature.
• Quality depends on the source. From a photo taken in shadow, at an angle, or on a dark background, background removal will be weaker. Scans and photos on plain, bright paper work best.
• Image files only. You can’t upload a text document or PDF file — prepare a photo or scan from it.
• No account and no history. There’s no list of previous work or cloud storage, so save the finished file on your device. Once you close the tab, you start over.
• It doesn’t remove stamps or watermarks. The cleanup option targets the background and scan noise, not arbitrary elements in the image.

How to Paste the Finished Signature Into a Document or Online Form

1. Save the prepared file on your device.
2. In a word processor, such as Word or Google Docs, choose to insert an image from a file and select the saved signature.
3. Resize it by dragging a corner handle. Keep the proportions — a signature stretched along one axis looks unnatural.
4. In an online form, click the field meant for your signature and select the file from your device. Many forms accept JPG and PNG.
5. If the signature will go on a colored background, photo, or stamp, choose the PNG version with a transparent background.
6. Keep the file for later — for your next document, you can simply insert it again.

Sometimes a service or office has its own requirements: a specific file size, image dimensions, or format. Check them before sending, and if needed, return to the tool, change the limit, width, or format, and prepare the signature again.
