This tool calculates the Moon Sign for the given date and time. After completing the fields, you will receive: the name of the Moon sign, ecliptic longitude in degrees, position in the sign (0-30°) and the approximate percentage of illumination on the dial. For easier interpretation, we have added a "borderline" indicator when the Moon is very close to changing signs.
What the calculator calculates and who it is for
Calculator shows yourMoon signfor the indicated moment. In astrology, it is the complement of the Sun sign, which describes more internal reactions and temperament. The tool is useful if you want to know your own Moon Sign, compare it with another person's, or check the position of the Moon for a specific date. The results are presented clearly and do not require knowledge of astronomy.
Input. How to fill out the form correctly
- Date and time (local)- select the exact moment from the calendar, preferably including hours and minutes.
- Time Zone (UTC ±hour)- Enter the offset from UTC for the given date. If Daylight Saving Time was in effect on your birthday, include it. Example: Poland in winter is usually
UTC+1, in summerUTC+2. - Latitude and longitude (optional)- you can enter the coordinates of the place (in decimal degrees). This makes it easier to estimate more precisely, especially when the result is close to the mark limit. Enter e.g.

algorithm Under the hood, the tool estimates the positions of the Moon and Sun on the ecliptic (in degrees 0–360) according to popular ephemerides approximations. Then:

It is not required, but coordinates may slightly improve the estimate, especially when the result is close to the mark boundary.
What if I don't know if Daylight Saving Time was in effect?

This is an approximation. If you care about astronomical precision, treat the result as approximate.
