How to add up hours in the counter?

The counter also supportsnight work: if the end time is earlier than the start time (e.g. 22:00–06:00), the tool treats it as a midnight passage and counts 8 hours, not a negative value.

Invoice hour counter - decimal format

On hourly invoices, the time is usually given indecimal hoursbecause it is easy to multiply it by the rate. 30 minutes is 0.5 h, 15 minutes is 0.25 h, and 45 minutes is 0.75 h. Below are the most common conversions of minutes to fraction of an hour:

After entering the rate (e.g. PLN 80/h), the counter multiplies it by the sum of decimal hours and shows the readyamount to be paid- without manual conversion.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions about the hour counter

How does the counter count the break?

Enter the break in minutes separately for each interval. The tool subtracts it from the time of a given line, so e.g. 09:00–17:00 with a break of 30 minutes gives 7 hours 30 minutes (7.5 h), not 8 hours.

Can I add up hours over several days?

Yes. Add each day as a separate interval using the "Add interval" button. The counter will add up all the rows and give you the total time - perfect for invoicing the entire month.

How to convert hours and minutes to decimal format?

You divide the minutes by 60: 30 minutes is 0.5 h, 15 minutes is 0.25 h, 45 minutes is 0.75 h. The counter does it automatically and shows the result, e.g. as 8.5 h next to the format 8:30.

Does the meter support midnight operation?

Yes. If you enter a range where the end time is earlier than the start time (e.g. 22:00 - 06:00), the tool will recognize the midnight crossing and count 8 hours instead of a negative value.

In what format should I enter hours?

In the HH:MM format, e.g. 08:00, 13:45, 17:30. On a computer, the time fields usually tell you the clock, and you will still get the result in hours, minutes and in decimal form.
