The most important formulas (abbreviation)
Gross ↔ net (UoP – simplification)
Comp. social (employee) = gross × (s_em + s_rent + s_chor) Health insurance basis = gross − social contributions Health contribution = Health_basis × health insurance Basic PIT = gross − social insurance − BUY Tax = PIT(PIT_basis) − relief Net = gross − social insurance − health − tax − PPK_work.
VAT (add/deduct)
Add: VAT = net × (p/100) → gross = net + VAT Deduction: VAT = gross × (p/(100+p)) → net = gross − VAT
Overtime
Overtime_salary = rate_hour × number_hours × (1 + allowance) e.g. 50% → 1.5; 100% → 2.0
Annual income
Annual_gross (hourly) = rate_hour × hour/week × 52 Annual_gross (monthly) = rate_m × 12 (+ 13th salary)
Increase
New_amount = Starting_amount × (1 + p/100) Δ amounts = New_amount − Initial_amount
YTM (Yield to Maturity)
DSCR = EBITDA / (Interest + Principal_repayments + Tax_on_debit)
Examples of use (mini-cases)
Gross PLN 7,000 → net (UoP)
After completing the rates, the calculator will show a breakdown of contributions, tax and net result.
Net PLN 5,500 → required gross
The reverse mode will iteratively calculate the gross, which will give the expected net - ready for a conversation with HR.
VAT 23% – on the gross amount
Enter gross PLN 12,300 → the calculator will deduct VAT: PLN 2,300, net: PLN 10,000.
Overtime: 30 h with a 50% bonus
Rate PLN 40/h → result = 40 × 30 × 1.5 = PLN 1,800.
Annually from hourly
PLN 45/h, 40 h/week → ~ 45 × 40 × 52 = PLN 93,600 gross (without bonus and 13th).
Increase +8%
6,000 → PLN 6,480; difference PLN 480/month. and PLN 5,760/year.

FAQ
Are the results "official"?
These are illustrative calculations. Accuracy depends on the data entered and current rates (tax, contributions, thresholds). You can configure the parameters in the form.
What is the difference between gross and net?
Gross is the amount in the contract before any deductions. Net is the amount after deducting contributions and tax - i.e. "on hand".
Adding vs. deducting VAT – when to use which one?
Adding – when you have a net amount and want to calculate the gross amount. Deduction – when you know the gross and want to know the net and VAT amount.
How to calculate overtime?
Multiply the hourly rate by the number of overtime hours and apply a multiplier (e.g. 1.5 for 50% bonus).
What are YTM and DSCR for?
YTM – for comparing bond yields. DSCR – to assess the debt repayment capacity (whether operating cash flows cover debt servicing).
