How does the overtime calculator work?
The calculator uses your base hourly rate and overtime allowance (e.g. 50% or 100%). It also takes into account income tax and contributions to show the real net salary.
- Calculates the gross and net amount of overtime
- Distinguishes bonus rates of 50%, 100%, 150% (for work on holidays or at night)
- Takes into account ZUS and PIT contributions (based on average workload)
Formulas
Hourly base = Monthly salary / Number working hours per month Overtime remuneration = Hourly rate × Number of overtime hours × (1 + Allowance%)
Example:if your hourly rate is PLN 30 and you worked 10 50% overtime hours, your gross remuneration will be:
30 × 10 × 1.5 = PLN 450 gross
Examples
Example 1 – 50% bonus
Assumptions:rate PLN 25/h, 8 overtime hours, 50% bonus
- Gross salary = 25 × 8 × 1.5 = PLN 300
- Net salary ≈ 300 × 0.77 = PLN 231
Example 2 – 100% bonus
Assumptions:rate PLN 40/h, 5 overtime hours, bonus 100%
- Gross salary = 40 × 5 × 2 = PLN 400
- Net salary ≈ 400 × 0.77 = PLN 308
Example 3 – work on a holiday (150%)
Assumptions:rate PLN 35/h, 4 hours, bonus 150%
- Gross salary = 35 × 4 × 2.5 = PLN 350
- Net salary ≈ 350 × 0.77 = PLN 270

Net and gross overtime calculator - 50% and 100% allowances (Art. 151¹ of the Labor Code)
The net overtime calculator allows you to quickly check how much will actually be credited to your account for working after hours. Pursuant to Art. 151¹ of the Labor Code, for overtime work, in addition to the normal remuneration, the employee is entitled to an allowance in the amount of100% of the remuneration- for overtime at night, on Sundays and holidays that are not working days for the employee, and on a day off granted in exchange for work on a Sunday or holiday - or50% of the remunerationfor overtime on any other day. The allowance is calculated on the remuneration resulting from your personal classification (hourly or monthly rate).
It is worth distinguishing between two types of exceedances.Daily overtimearises when you work more than 8 hours a day (or longer than the extended daily working time in an equivalent system) and is settled on an ongoing basis in a given month.Average weekly overtimeis an excess of the average 40-hour weekly norm - it is determined only at the end of the settlement period and is always entitled to a 100% bonus. Instead of an allowance, the employer may grant time off: at the employee's request in the amount of 1:1, and without the request - in the amount of half the amount (1:1.5).
Overtime pay - calculator and numerical example
The calculator determines the overtime pay in three steps: determines the hourly rate, adds normal remuneration for each overtime, and then adds a 50% or 100% bonus. Example: an employee earns PLN 6,720 gross per month, and the working time in a given month is 168 hours - the hourly rate is PLN 40. For 10 "ordinary" overtime hours (50% bonus), he will receive 10 × PLN 40 of normal remuneration + 10 × PLN 20 of bonus =PLN 600 gross. If the same overtime occurred at night or on a Sunday off (100% allowance), it would be 10 × PLN 40 + 10 × PLN 40 =PLN 800 gross. After deducting ZUS contributions and PIT advances, there is usually approximately 70-72% of this amount left on hand - the net overtime calculator will show the exact result for your parameters.
Remember the limits: overtime work cannot exceed 150 hours in a calendar year (the code limit that may be increased by a collective agreement or contract), and the total weekly working time with overtime cannot exceed 48 hours on average in a reference period. Legal status as of 2026
