How to Use the IBPS Photo and Signature Tool

The IBPS photo + signature tool prepares two image files that are usually attached to an application: a face photo and a signature. All processing happens locally in your browser, so the selected files stay on your device.

Before you start, open the current notice and note two things: the required pixel dimensions and the allowed file size range in kilobytes. You will enter these numbers in the form later.

1. In the photo section, enter the width and height in pixels, as well as the minimum and maximum in KB.
2. In the signature section, do the same — the signature usually has different proportions than the photo.
3. Choose the face photo file.
4. Choose the signature file — it can be a scan or a photo of the signature.
5. In both croppers, set the crop and zoom.
6. Click “Prepare Files.” If one of the files is missing, you will see the message “Select both files: photo and signature.” — add the missing file and try again.

To start, the fields are filled with values from the settings preset for the “other” category. You can override them freely, because they are only a starting point, not a ready answer to the requirements in your notice.

Cropping and Zooming in Both Croppers

A cropper appears after you select a file — one for the photo and one for the signature. Each has a “Zoom” slider ranging from 1 to 4, set to 1 by default.

The shape of the crop comes directly from the numbers you enter. The crop ratio is the entered width divided by the entered height: for the photo it comes from the photo fields, and for the signature from the signature fields. When you change the dimensions, the cropper for that image resets if the file is already selected. This lets you immediately see what shape the finished file will have.

• Start with zoom 1 and increase it only when the most important element is too small in the crop.
• For a face photo, make sure the entire face fits in the crop and is not cut off at the edges.
• For the signature, make sure no line goes outside the crop — the signature should be fully visible.
• If the crop looks different from what you expected, check the dimensions you entered, because they determine its proportions.

How to Match the File to the KB Limit (Min-Max)

In each section, you enter not only the dimensions but also the allowed file size: minimum and maximum in KB. The photo and signature are prepared separately — each image is scaled to the entered dimensions, and its file size is adjusted so it fits within the specified range.

The lowest dimension you can set is 20 pixels. Keep in mind that very small dimensions usually reduce readability, so it is better to follow the values in the notice and use a good-quality source.

Photo and signature requirements in IBPS forms can vary — they depend on the specific notice and category. There is no single universal set of numbers that fits every application, so the document you are filling out should always be your reference.

• Photo appearance: background, crop, and how the face is shown.
• Signature appearance: whether it should be a scan or a photo, and how the signature should be positioned.

The numbers visible in the tool at the start are only a suggestion. Compare them with the notice and correct anything in the fields that does not match — the tool works exactly with what you enter. Requirements can also change between recruitment cycles, so check the document for your application, not instructions from earlier editions.

Tool Limitations: No Background or Face Assessment, Results Depend on the Numbers You Enter

This is a file preparation tool, not a tool for assessing whether a photo meets formal requirements. It will not check whether the background is suitable, whether the face is clearly visible, whether the signature is readable, or whether everything matches the instructions in the notice.

• It does not assess the quality of the photo or signature — no automatic check can replace that.
• It does not remove the background, improve lighting, retouch the face, or thicken signature lines.
• The result depends on the numbers you enter and the quality of the source files. Dimensions that are too small or a heavily compressed source mean lower readability in the finished image.
• It accepts image files — it does not convert documents or other file types into images.
• It does not compare your settings with the notice, so you must assess compliance with IBPS requirements yourself.

The best results come from a good source: a sharp face photo and a clear scan or photo of the signature taken in even light and without shadows.
