Calculation examples

Example 1 - gas compression

P₂ = 101.3 × (10 / 5) = 202.6 kPa A gas with half the volume has twice the pressure.

Example 2 - gas expansion

P₂ = 200 × (2 / 6) = 66.7 kPa During expansion, the pressure decreases in proportion to the increase volume.

Taking into account atmospheric pressure
