This tool allows you to quickly calculate how much you will earn on a bank deposit. It takes into account the amount paid, interest rate, duration, type of interest capitalization and Belka tax. This allows you to see both gross and net interest and the final principal value.
What the calculator calculates
The calculator gives a full picture of the deposit:
- Gross interest before tax,
- The amount of Belka's tax (19%),
- Net interest after tax deductions,
- The final amount of capital that you will receive after the end of the deposit.
How to use
- Enter the deposit amount (from PLN 100 to PLN 100 million).
- Enter the nominal interest rate per annum (%).
- Select the duration – in months or days.
- Indicate the type of capitalization: none, daily, monthly, quarterly or annual.
- Select whether to include Belka's tax (and possibly whether to collect it at each capitalization).
- Click "Calculate" to get the result.
Calculation algorithm
The calculator uses the classic formulas for compound interest:
- No capitalization: Interest = principal × rate × time (simple proportion).
- With capitalization: Final amount = capital × (1 + rate/number_periods)^(number_periods × time).
- Tax: Beam = 19% on gross profit, if included.
- Net: Net interest = gross – tax.
Step-by-step examples
Amount PLN 10,000, 12 months, 5% per annum, annual capitalization
Gross ≈ PLN 500, Belka tax PLN 95, net PLN 405, final amount ≈ PLN 10,405.
Amount PLN 50,000, 6 months, 6% annually, quarterly capitalization
Gross ≈ PLN 1,500, Belka tax ≈ PLN 285, net ≈ PLN 1,215, final amount ≈ PLN 51,215.
Amount PLN 20,000, 100 days, 4% per annum, no capitalization
Gross interest ≈ PLN 219, tax PLN 42, net PLN 177, final amount ≈ PLN 20,177.

Deposit interest calculator – how to calculate the profit on a deposit?
The deposit interest calculator is based on a simple formula:gross interest = principal × annual interest × number of deposit days / 365. The bank collects 19% flat-rate capital gains tax on the interest calculated in this way (the so-called Belka tax, as of 2026), so the net amount is transferred to the account:net profit = gross interest × 0.81. The tax is deducted automatically by the bank - you do not report it in your PIT.
If the deposit hascapitalization(monthly, quarterly), the interest accrued in a given period increases the capital and in the next period it works to generate profit. With typical 3-12-month deposits, the difference from capitalization at the end is small, but with longer savings the effect of compound interest increases. Also remember that the interest rate on deposits is always given on an annual basis - a 3-month "5%" deposit gives approximately 1.25% for its period, not 5%.
| Capital | Interest | Period | Gross interest | Belka tax 19% | Net profit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PLN 10,000 | 5% per annum | 12 months | PLN 500.00 | PLN 95.00 | PLN 405.00 |
| PLN 50,000 | 5% per annum | 12 months | PLN 2,500.00 | PLN 475.00 | PLN 2,025.00 |
| PLN 100,000 | 5% per annum | 12 months | PLN 5,000.00 | PLN 950.00 | PLN 4,050.00 |
The values in the table refer to capitalization at the end of the period. When comparing banks' offers, pay attention not only to the nominal interest rate, but also to the conditions: whether the rate applies only to new funds, what the amount limit is and what happens after the deposit ends (automatic renewal often takes place on much worse terms).
Frequently asked questions
Is Belka's tax included?
Yes, you can choose whether to charge it. The standard rate is 19% of gross interest.
What is capitalization?
This means adding interest to the capital and charging further interest on the increased amount.
Is the result guaranteed?
Yes, if the bank meets the terms of the deposit. The calculator is based on mathematics, but in practice it is worth taking into account the bank's regulations.
Practical tips
- The more frequent the capitalization, the higher the net interest.
- Take Belka's tax into account when comparing offers.
- Check whether the bank does not charge additional fees for maintaining the deposit.
Most common errors
- Omission of Belka's tax.
- Entering the period 0 months/days.
- Assuming that all banks apply identical capitalization rules.
