What is the Day and Month Calculator?
The Day and Month Calculator is a simple online tool that calculates the difference between two dates without having to count on foot. By entering a start and end date, you get:
- the total number of calendar days between the dates,
- the approximate number of weeks,
- the number of full months and "remainder" days,
- a clear, descriptive summary of the difference between the dates.
The tool works like a precise planning clock - it allows you to measure the time interval between two points on the timeline: the beginning of the project, signing the contract, the first doctor's visit, the day you start work or... sending the first messenger message.
Unlike a classic calculator or spreadsheet, it does not require knowledge of formulas or date formats. Just select dates from the calendar, click the button and read the result in a form understandable to every user.
How does the Day and Month Calculator work?
Using the calculator has been made as simple as possible. The whole process comes down to three steps:
- Select the start date
Set the starting date in the calendar - it can be the first day of work, the start of the project, the date of signing the contract or any other moment from which you want to count the time. - Set end date
Select the end date - the day of the end of the contract, end of leave, due date, exam date or campaign finale. - Click "Calculate" and read the result
After one click, the calculator will immediately calculate the difference between the dates and show:- how many full months and additional days have passed,
- how many weeks it is (approximately),
- how many calendar days cover the entire period.
All calculations are performed locally in your browser - dates are not sent to the server. You enter two dates, click "Calculate" and immediately receive a result that you can use immediately in your work or plans.
What can you use the Day and Month Calculator for?
The date difference calculator is useful in a surprising number of situations. Every time you need to answer the question "how much time has passed" or "how many days are left", the tool does it for you in a second.
Planning of projects and deadlines
When working on projects, marketing campaigns, implementations or implementation schedules, it is important to precisely determine the duration:
- count how many months the project takes from kickoff to implementation,
- check how many days are left until an important date in the roadmap,
- measure the period between subsequent iterations or sprints.
Contracts, notices and leases
In law and finance, every day counts. The calculator makes it easier to:
- calculate the duration of a lease or mandate contract,
- check the notice period in days and months,
- monitor how much time has passed since signing the contract.
Leave, L4 and HR settlements
HR and accounting departments work on dates every day. The calculator will help:
- calculate how long the leave lasted,
- calculate the period of sick leave in working days and calendar days,
- check the length of service between the date of employment and today.
Pregnancy and medicine
Pregnancy is often measured in weeks and then in months. The tool can:
- calculate the number of weeks since the last menstrual period,
- check how many months have passed since the first visit to the doctor,
- count the days until the planned delivery date.
Relationships and personal life
Counting time does not only apply to work. It's also:
- how many days have passed since "that first message",
- how many months your relationship has lasted,
- how many days separate the first meeting from today's date.
This is a simple way to count the length of friendship, anniversaries or "round" dates that are worth celebrating.
School, exams and events
The calculator will also be useful in education and when organizing events:
- check how many days are left until an exam or the end of the school year,
- count how long a semester or academic year lasts,
- plan a campaign promoting an event based on precise dates.
Why use this calculator?
Instant result
No need to create formulas in a spreadsheet or write scripts. The result appears immediately after clicking the "Calculate" button:
- you save time with each operation on dates,
- you reduce the risk of calculation errors,
- you always see the result in the same, transparent form.
Security and privacy
The tool works in your browser, without the need to log in or create an account. Dates:
- are not saved on the server,
- are not analyzed or profiled,
- disappear after refreshing the page or closing the tab.
Thanks to this, you can easily count periods related to contracts, documents, health or private life.
Clear presentation of results
Instead of a raw number of days, the calculator gives the result in a more "human" form:
- full months + remaining days,
- approximate number of weeks,
- exact number of calendar days.
Thanks to this, you can easily incorporate the result into a report, presentation, e-mail to a client or contract - without additional conversion.
No registration, no fees
The calculator is:
- completely free,
- without logging in and creating an account,
- without limits of use and hidden premium functions.
This is not a heavy ad-supported app or a paid program. It's a lightweight tool that just works – when you need it.
Calculation examples - how you can use the

- Anniversary of friendship:enter the date of the first meeting or first message - the calculator will tell you how many days and months you have already been together.
Security and browser behavior
The Day and Month Calculator has been designed with a zero-trace approach on the server side. All calculations are performed on the user's browser side, which means that:
- dates are not sent in requests to the server,
- are not saved in databases or logs,
- after closing the tab or refreshing the page, the data disappears.
Thanks to this, you can also use the tool with sensitive terms - contracts, medical documents or personal plans - while maintaining full control over what happens to the entered information.
180 days is how many months? Quick answers
The most frequently asked conversion:180 days is approximately 5.9 months(calculating the average month = 30.44 days), or colloquially "half a year". Other popular values - useful for contract terms, notice periods, guarantees or visas:
| Days | How many months is it (avg. 30.44 days) | Colloquially |
|---|---|---|
| 30 days | 0.99 | month |
| 60 days | 1.97 | 2 months |
| 90 days | 2.96 | quarter |
| 120 days | 3.94 | 4 months |
| 180 days | 5.91 | half a year |
| 200 days | 6.57 | over half a year |
| 270 days | 8.87 | ~9 months |
| 365 days | 11.99 | year |
6 months is how many days? Converting the other way
6 months is 181–184 daysdepending on which months they cover (e.g. January–June = 181 days, July–December = 184 days).9 months is 273–276 days. That's why in contracts and official letters, deadlines are counted from date to date, and not by multiplying "30 days × number of months" - the calculator above does it calendarally, taking into account the actual length of each month and leap years.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Does the calculator take into account leap year?
Yes. The tool is based on a real calendar and takes into account the length of months and leap years. You don't have to check yourself whether February had 28 or 29 days - the result takes it into account automatically.
Is the last date in the interval counted?
By default, the calculator returns the difference between dates in calendar days. In practice, this means that if you set the same day as the start and end, the result will be 0 days. If you need a different way of counting (e.g. including both days), you can easily adjust the result by 1 day in your notes or reports.
Can I use the calculator on my phone?
Yes. The calculator is responsive and works in modern mobile browsers. You can use it on your smartphone or tablet just like you would on your computer.
Do I need to log in or install the app?
No. The tool works in the browser, without registration, login and installation. You just go to the website, select the dates, click "Calculate" and immediately see the result.
Can I use the calculator at work (e.g. for contracts, HR, projects)?
Of course. The calculator is designed with such applications in mind: labor law, notice periods, leaves, projects, campaigns, HR reports, business analyzes and settlements. You can directly copy the results into documents, e-mails and reports.

| Days | How many months | Days | How many months |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 days | ≈ 1 month | 150 days | ≈ 4.9 months |
| 60 days | ≈ 2 months | 180 days | ≈ 5.9 months (half a year) |
