What is 1RM and why count it at all?

The same weight can mean a completely different level of strength if the technique is different. Why does rounding matter?

Most gyms have plates in 1.25 kg or 2.5 kg increments (varies per side). If the calculator shows 83.7 kg and you only have the full 2.5 kg, you still need to round up. Therefore, the tool allows you to set a "round to" (e.g. 2.5 or 5) so that the result is practical "right away".

Repetition table – how much should you press for 3, 5, 8, 10 repetitions?

For best accuracy, enter data from sets in the range of2-8 reps. This is usually the "sweet spot" for 1RM patterns. If you enter 1 repetition - it's still a test, and the calculator is less needed. If you introduce 12-15+ repetitions, the results may vary, because muscle endurance and technique in a long series have a strong impact on the result. Then treat 1RM as an "orientation", and plan based on Training Max percentages.

In practice, a good approach is to update the 1RM once every 4-8 weeks on a working set basis. Thanks to this, you don't have to test singles every week and you can still see whether you are growing.

1RM table – how much can you bench press at once?

The maximum weight for one repetition (1RM) is estimated using the Brzycki formula:1RM = weight × 36 ÷ (37 − number of repetitions). Example: you bench press 80 kg for 6 repetitions → 80 × 36 ÷ 31 ≈93 kg. With 1RM it is easy to plan training loads:
