1,000 euroat the average NBP exchange ratePLN 4.3050(according to table 150/A/NBP/2026 of August 5, 2026) givesPLN 4,305.00. The amount is given for a specific table and does not change with the exchange rate: the euro exchange rate changes every business day, so if you are reading this later, the current value is shown by the converter above this text - it takes the exchange rate from the last published table and prints its date.
Conversion from euro to PLN - step by step
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Amount to be converted | 1000 euro |
| Average NBP exchange rate (EUR) | PLN 4.3050 for 1 euro |
| NBP table number | 150/A/NBP/2026 |
| Table validity date | August 5, 2026 |
| Action | 1000 × 4.3050 PLN |
| Result | PLN 4,305.00 |
The conversion is a multiplication, so it is easy to check it in memory: One euro is PLN 4.3050 according to table 150/A/NBP/2026 of August 5, 2026, and 1000 times that amount gives PLN 4,305.00. The average exchange rate is given with four decimal places, exactly as in the NBP table - rounding the exchange rate to two places for larger amounts shifts the result by a few zlotys.
The other way around: PLN 1,000 - how many euros?
The same table also answers the opposite question.PLN 1,000isEUR 232.29(according to table 150/A/NBP/2026 of August 5, 2026): we divide the amount in PLN by the exchange rate of PLN 4.3050. The two conversion directions are not symmetrical in notation - multiplication gives zlotys, division gives euros - but they are based on one number from table A. In the converter above, you can change the direction by pressing the currency conversion button.
How the NBP exchange rate table works and when it changes
The National Bank of Poland publishes average rates of foreign currencies in table A. The table is published every business day between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. and is valid from the date of publication; There is no new table on weekends and holidays, so the last published table applies. The table number consists of the next number in the year, the series letter and the year - here 150/A/NBP/2026, i.e. table number 150 in 2026. The euro exchange rate in this table is PLN 4.3050.
The average NBP exchange rate is an information and accounting exchange rate. It is used to convert invoices in foreign currencies, for tax settlements (exchange rate from the day preceding the day of generating income or incurring costs), and for valuation in reports and contracts that explicitly refer to it. It is not the price at which you will buy the currency - NBP does not conduct exchanges for individual customers.
NBP exchange rate and the price in the bank and in the exchange office
The bank and the exchange office earn money on the difference between the purchase and sale prices, i.e. the spread. The selling rate (at which you buy the currency) is higher than the average NBP, the buying rate (at which you sell) is lower. In an online currency exchange office, the spread on euro is 0.3-0.7%, in a stationary currency exchange office in the city center 1-2%, and in a bank when converting a card or transfer 2-4%. For 1,000 euros calculated at the exchange rate of PLN 4.3050 (according to table 150/A/NBP/2026 of August 5, 2026), this means the following ranges of how much you will actually pay or receive:
| Exchange place | Typical spread | Buy currency (you will pay) | Sell currency (you will get) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Average NBP rate | 0% | PLN 4,305.00 | PLN 4,305.00 |
| Online currency exchange office | ≈0.5% | PLN 4,326.53 | PLN 4,283.48 |
| Stationary currency exchange office | ≈1.5% | PLN 4,369.58 | PLN 4,240.43 |
| Bank, currency conversion | ≈3% | PLN 4,434.15 | PLN 4,175.85 |
The ranges are examples and calculated from the amount of PLN 4 PLN 305.00 from table 150/A/NBP/2026 - a specific currency exchange office provides its own rates and only they are binding. However, the conclusion is constant regardless of the day: the difference between the cheapest and the most expensive exchange of EUR 1,000 reaches several percent of the amount, i.e. for this transaction size, approximately PLN 150.68. When traveling, it is worth comparing several online currency exchange offices, and when paying by card, check whether the bank does not add its own margin to the exchange rate of the payment organization.
Where do the numbers on this page come from
We take the euro exchange rate from the NBP table A, which is downloaded once a day in the background and saved in the website's warehouse; the website never connects to the NBP API while displayed, so it also works when the API does not respond. All amounts in the text describe table 150/A/NBP/2026 of August 5, 2026 and will remain in this table - that is why it is placed next to each number. The result for the day you are reading is shown by the converter at the top of the page: it takes the exchange rate from the last table in the magazine and prints its date, and when the exchange rate is older than 24 hours, it adds a message that it is out of date. You can change the amount to any other amount and convert it both ways, also to other currencies from table A.
