How does cm, inches and feet conversion work?

There are two foundations that are worth knowing because they give you an immediate sense of whether the result makes sense:1 inch (in) = 2.54 cm, and1 foot (ft) = 12 inches. This gives us another thing:1 ft = 30.48 cm. The calculator calculates it precisely and then shows the result in several formats so you don't have to do mental acrobatics.
