A teacher is not only a person who transmits knowledge from textbooks, but above all an educator, a guide to the world of science and an authority who shapes young minds. A good teacher can awaken passion, notice hidden talent, support in difficult times and motivate to overcome barriers. National Education Day, commonly called Teacher's Day and celebrated in Poland on October 14, is an ideal opportunity to thank educators and teachers for their patience, heart and commitment to everyday, difficult work.
On our website, we have prepared a rich database of ready-made wishes for teachers. We offer texts divided into two main categories: official wishes full of gratitude and respect (perfect for writing on a commemorative card from the entire class) and short wishes (perfect for adding to a bouquet of flowers or sending in a message). You can copy our texts with one click, which will make it easier for you to prepare a school gift.
National Education Commission Day - history and significance of Teachers' Day
National Education Day is celebrated in Poland to commemorate the establishment of the National Education Commission (KEN) on October 14, 1773, on the initiative of King Stanisław August Poniatowski. KEN was the first state educational authority in the form of a ministry of education in Poland, and also in the whole of Europe. It reformed Polish education, introducing, among others, learning in Polish (instead of Latin) and with an emphasis on science subjects and civic education. Today, October 14, is a celebration of all education workers - teachers, educators, as well as administrative and support staff.
How to express respect and gratitude in wishes for a teacher?
Wishes for the teacher should be tactful, respectful and adapted to the nature of your relationship. When writing wishes from the class or individually, it is worth remembering a few elements:
- Thank them for their patience and understanding:Working with young people can be stressful. Appreciating the fact that the teacher always remained calm and tried to understand us was a beautiful gesture.
- Mention passion and inspiration:If the teacher was able to interest you in his subject (e.g. history, biology or physics), be sure to write about it. For every educator, knowing that they have instilled passion in someone is the greatest professional success.
- Wish you health and patience:Wish the teacher unflagging health, cheerfulness, satisfaction from working with young people, prosperity in his personal life and students who are polite and willing to learn.
