Converter ml to grams (and vice versa)
Convert volume (milliliters) to weight (grams) for the most common kitchen ingredients. Enter one of the values, select an ingredient and click recalculate.
Why does ingredient density matter?
In culinary recipes, we often find measurements in milliliters (volume) and grams (weight) interchangeably. Since different products have different densities (specific gravity), 100 ml of flour weighs much less than 100 ml of water or honey:
| Ingredient | Density (g/ml) | How much does 100 ml weigh? | How much volume does 100 g have? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Honey | 1.40 g/ml | 140 g | 71 ml |
| Fine salt | 1.20 g/ml | 120 g | 83 ml |
| Milk | 1.03 g/ml | 103 g | 97 ml |
| Water | 1.00 g/ml | 100 g | 100 ml |
| Vegetable oil | 0.90 g/ml | 90 g | 111 ml |
| Crystal sugar | 0.84 g/ml | 84 g | 119 ml |
| Wheat flour (loose) | 0.52 g/ml | 52 g | 192 ml |
| Cocoa (powder) | 0.50 g/ml | 50 g | 200 ml |

Cooking is a science of precision. Sometimes a recipe lists ingredients in milliliters and you have a kitchen scale - or vice versa. The ml to g converterfromWebP.plwill allow you to quickly convert the volume of liquids and loose products into weight, taking into account their density. Thanks to this, your recipes will always be perfect, regardless of the units of measurement.
How does the ml to g converter work?
The system usesa physical formula based on the density of a substance- i.e. the relationship between mass and volume. Not all products have the same density: 100 ml of milk does not weigh the same as 100 ml of flour. Our calculator takes into account different types of ingredients, making the conversions accurate and practical in the kitchen.
Most frequently converted products
Select the product whose quantity you want to convert. The calculator contains the most popular kitchen ingredients:
Milk
1 ml = 1.03 g. Example: 250 ml of milk = 257.5 g.
Sugar
1 ml = 0.85 g. Example: 100 ml of sugar = 85 g.
Flour wheat
1 ml = 0.53 g. Example: 200 ml of flour = 106 g.
Vegetable oil
1 ml = 0.92 g. Example: 50 ml of oil = 46 g.
Why is it worth using the ml to g converter?
- You avoid mistakes in regulations from different countries (USA, UK, EU).
- You can easily convert volume measurements to weight measurements and vice versa.
- Helps with dieting and controlling the calorie content of dishes.
- Works for liquids, powders, seeds, flours, fats and spices.
- Useful for cooking without a measuring cup or kitchen scale.

How to convert volume to weight in practice?
Measurements in ml often appear in recipes, although we use products with different densities. To make it easier, you can remember a few basic rules:
- 1 ml of water = 1 g
- 1 ml of milk = approx. 1.03 g
- 1 ml of flour = approx. 0.53 g
- 1 ml of oil = approx. 0.92 g
- 1 ml of honey = approx. 1.4 g
1 ml is how many grams? Table for popular products
Milliliters is volume and grams is mass - the conversion rate depends on the density of the product. For water 1 ml = 1 g(exactly), but for oil or honey the result is different:
| Product | 1 ml | 100 ml | 200 ml (glass*) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water | 1.00 g | 100 g | 200 g |
| Milk | 1.03 g | 103 g | 206 g |
| Vegetable oil | 0.92 g | 92 g | 184 g |
