Frequently asked questions
How to prepare for your first tattoo?
The day before: moisturize your skin, get a good night's sleep, do not drink alcohol. On the day of the procedure: eat a solid meal before (to maintain sugar levels), dress comfortably with access to the tattooed area, take something sweet to stock up (juice, candy). In the chair: tell the tattoo artist if you need a break, you can listen to music or podcasts through headphones.
How much does a tattoo cost and what does the price depend on?
Prices depend on: the size and complexity of the project, the artist's experience and the studio's reputation, location (Warsaw, Krakow - more expensive than smaller cities), color (color is more expensive than black and white), technique (realism is more expensive than line work). Indicatively: small, simple tattoos - PLN 100-300. Medium (10×10 cm) — PLN 300–600. Large, complicated - PLN 600-3000+. Always pay what the artist estimates - there is no such thing as a cheap tattoo.
How to care for a fresh tattoo?
For the first 2-3 weeks: wash gently with water and unscented soap, apply a thin layer of unscented balm or a special tattoo preparation (Tattoo Goo, Bepanthen), do not soak (swimming pool, sea, bathtub), protect from the sun (all the time - always use sunscreen after healing), do not scratch or peel off scabs. Proper healing takes 2-4 weeks.
Does the tattoo hurt and how much?
Tattoo pain is subjective and depends on the location on the body, pain tolerance and mental state. Scale 1–10: 1–3 (thigh, outer arm, buttock), 4–6 (forearm, calf, back), 7–9 (ribs, inner elbow, ankle, feet), 9–10 (spine, sternum, inner thigh, armpits). Sessions longer than 3-4 hours are more painful due to fatigue and skin irritation.
Can a tattoo be removed with a laser?
Yes - laser tattoo removal is possible, but it is a long, painful and expensive process. Typically requires 5-15 sessions every 6-8 weeks. Red, yellow and green colors are the most difficult to remove. Cost: PLN 200–600 per session. The result depends on the depth of the ink, skin color and the quality of the pigments used. Complete removal without a trace is not always possible.
