Raise Calculator 2026 - calculate your salary increase step by step

This tool calculates the effects of a salary increase on gross and net amounts. It supports percentage and amount increases, as well as the "target goal" variant - how much you need to add to reach the selected salary. Additionally, it compares scenarios and shows the benefit monthly and annually. You will also take into account contributions and tax to see a realistic change on your hands.

What the raise calculator can do

  • Percentage raise (e.g. +5%, +8.5%, +12%) and amount (e.g. +PLN 600).
  • Calculation of the new gross and net amount and the monthly and annual difference.
  • Goal mode: "I want to earn X gross/net" - the calculator calculates the required raise.
  • Simulation of several increases in a row (percentage accumulation).
  • Simple comparison of scenarios in a table (e.g. +5%, +8%, +10%).
Tax and contribution values are configurable in the form. The examples in the content are for illustrative purposes only.

Formulas and theory

Percentage increase

New_amount = Starting_amount × (1 + p/100) Difference = New_amount - Starting_amount Increase_% = (Difference / Starting_amount) × 100%

If you enter a gross amount, the calculator may convert the net result according to the tax and contribution rates active in the tool.

Amount increase

New_amount = Starting_amount + Δ
Increase_% = (Δ / Starting_Amount) × 100%

Target

Raise Required_% = ((Target / Starting_Amount) - 1) × 100%
Required_raise_Δ = Target - Initial_amount

In the "net → gross (target)" mode, the calculator uses a reverse conversion: iteratively determines the gross, which will give the indicated net amount.

Cumulation of several increases

After_n_increases = Amount × Π (1 + p_i/100), for i = 1..n

Increases added successively multiply, so 5% + 10% ≠ 15% "linearly", but 1.05 × 1.10 = 1,155, or 15.5% in total.

Net vs. gross

The change "on hand" (net) depends on the gross level and the configuration of contributions and tax. For higher thresholds, the effects may be non-linear - the calculator shows both perspectives to make it easier to negotiate a raise.

How to use - quick steps

Step 1 - select mode

Percentage, amount or goal (gross/net). You can also add a second and third increase to the rollover simulation.

Step 2 - enter data

Current salary (gross or net), tax and contribution parameters, number of months (for annual conversions).

Step 3 - Compare Scenarios

Add variants (e.g. +5%, +8%, +10%) and compare the monthly and yearly difference. See chart/tabular comparison.

Step 4 - record the result

Use the result in the raise conversation: show the gross/net difference and the cost to the company (if you turn on the employer cost view).

Examples

Example A – +8% raise

Assumptions:PLN 6,000 gross, 8% raise.

  • New gross amount = 6,000 × 1.08 = 6,480
  • Gross difference = 480 / month ≈ 5,760 / year
  • Net – dependent on parameters; the calculator will show the real increase "on hand".

Example B – increase +PLN 900

Assumptions:5,500 gross, +PLN 900.

  • New gross amount = 6,400
  • % increase = 900 / 5,500 ≈ 16.36%

Example C - target: 8,000 gross

Assumptions:currently 7,200 gross.

  • Δ = 8,000 − 7,200 = 800
  • Required raise % ≈ (8,000 / 7,200 − 1) × 100% ≈ 11.11%

Example D – two raises in a row

Assumptions:start 6,000; first +5%, then +7%.

  • After 1st increase: 6,000 × 1.05 = 6,300
  • After 2nd increase: 6,300 × 1.07 = 6,741
  • Total ≈ +12.35% (not 12%).

Support tables

Scenario Starting salary (gross) Raise parameter New amount (gross) Difference/month Est. net difference/month* Annually (gross)
+5% 6,000 p = 5% 6,300 300 ~ net according to settings 3,600
+8% 6,000 p = 8% 6,480 480 ~ net according to settings 5,760
+900 PLN 5,500 Δ = 900 6,400 900 ~ net according to settings 10,800
Target 8,000 7,200 target 8,000 800 ~ net according to settings 9,600

*The net difference depends on the configuration of taxes and contributions in the calculator.

FAQ

Percentage or amount increase – what to choose?

The percentage scales with the salary (the higher the base, the greater the amount), and the increase in amount gives a constant increase regardless of the base. The calculator will show both effects.

Is the net result accurate?

Yes, if you set the current rates and parameters. Default values are illustrative - adjust them to your current rules.

How to calculate the required raise to reach the target amount?

Use target mode. Enter your target amount (gross or net) and the calculator will calculate the percentage or raise amount needed.

What about employer costs?

Turn on employer cost view to see the total cost increase after the increase (company-funded + gross premiums).

Can I compare several raise offers?

Yes. Add scenarios and compare them in the table - the calculator will show gross/net differences and annual totals.

Good practices in negotiations

  • Prepare 2-3 scenarios (minimal, realistic, ambitious).
  • Check the net difference and the employer's cost - this makes it easier to talk to HR.
  • Count the accumulation of increases spread over time - sometimes two smaller steps give better acceptability.
  • Include bonuses/bonuses and benefits - this is part of total remuneration.

Summary

The 2025 Raise Calculator will quickly show the impact of a salary increase on gross and net amounts. It will handle percentage and amount increases, calculate the target goal, accumulations and comparative variants. Enable tax and contribution conversions to get a realistic picture at hand.
