How to Upload a PDF and Choose the Number of Pages per Sheet (2–16)

The whole process comes down to one file and a few decisions. The tool accepts only one PDF, so if you have several separate documents, combine them first and then upload the resulting file. There is no multi-file mode or job queue to process.

1. Select a PDF file from your computer.
2. From the “Pages per sheet” list, choose 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, or 16. The default is 4 pages.
3. Choose a sheet size: A4, A3, or Letter. The default is A4.
4. Set the margin in millimeters — from 0 to 30, with a default of 8 mm.
5. Leave the borders around pages checked or uncheck the box. They are checked by default.
6. Click “Create PDF.”

When processing finishes, you will see a download link for the new file and a summary: how many source pages went onto how many sheets, in which format, and at what size. The file name is tied to the number of pages per sheet, for example 4-per-sheet.pdf.

The number of pages per sheet determines the grid in which source pages are arranged. There are six settings, and each has a predefined sheet division.

Sheet orientation is not a setting you choose manually. The tool takes it from the first page of your document. The exception is 2 pages per sheet: in that case, the sheet gets the opposite orientation, so portrait pages land on a landscape sheet and sit side by side. With the other settings, the sheet has the same orientation as the first page of the document, and on a landscape sheet, the columns and rows swap roles.

Each page is scaled to fit inside its cell while preserving its aspect ratio, and centered within it.

Margin, Fixed 4 mm Gap, and Borders — How to Set Them for Printing

The margin is the free space between the edge of the sheet and the area where pages are arranged. You set it in millimeters — from 0 to 30, with a default of 8 mm. A larger margin leaves room for binding, hole punching, or trimming; a smaller one lets you use more paper.

The gap between adjacent cells is 4 mm and is fixed — you cannot change it from the interface. Keep this in mind with dense layouts: at 9 or 16 pages per sheet, the gaps and margins themselves consume a large part of the sheet, leaving less room for content.

Borders are enabled by default. They are a thin line in a light shade of gray, 0.5 points thick, drawn around each page. They make it easier to judge the layout, cut, and fold the printout. If you prefer clean paper without lines, clear this option before creating the file.

Limitations and What the Tool Does Not Do (First-Page Orientation, No Rotation or Manual Settings)

The tool does one thing: it places pages from one PDF onto sheets in the selected grid. It is worth knowing where its limits are.

• Sheet orientation is determined by the first page of the document — you cannot set it manually, and all sheets in the output have the same layout.
• The tool does not rotate pages. A page saved in landscape in the source file will not be automatically rotated to portrait.
• The gap between cells is fixed at 4 mm.
• The margin accepts values from 0 to 30 mm.
• One PDF is processed at a time — you cannot combine several documents in one run.
• There is no manual page placement, no choosing which page goes in a specific spot, and no changing the order. Pages are arranged in order.
• Page content is not changed: no cropping, numbering, watermarks, or adding anything.

Check for yourself before printing whether the text remains readable at the selected density, whether your printer cuts off the edges, and whether the division onto sheets fits the way you will cut and fold the printout.

A4/A3/Letter Formats, File Download, and Browser Processing

There are three sheet sizes to choose from: A4 (default), A3, and Letter. The selected format determines the size of sheets in the new file — the number of source pages does not change.

After you click “Create PDF,” a new document is created. The number of sheets follows a simple division: the number of pages in your file divided by the number of pages per sheet, with a partial sheet also counting. Below the button, a download link with a fixed name appears, along with a summary in the form: number of pages, arrow, number of sheets, format, and size.

Everything is processed locally in your browser. The file is not sent anywhere, you do not need to install anything or wait for server-side processing. Just upload a PDF, set the options, and download the finished document for printing.
