Formulas and theory

Remuneration structure - core calculations

Gross remuneration includes all components on which contributions and tax are calculated. Net remuneration is the amount to be paid after deducting contributions and income tax advances in accordance with the selected contract type and parameters.

General idea gross → net:
  1. Calculate the employee's social contributions from the base: retirement, disability, sickness benefits according to configurable rates.
  2. Health contribution basis = gross minus the employee's social contributions.
  3. Health contribution = health base × health rate.
  4. Tax base = gross minus employee's social contributions minus tax deductible costs.
  5. Tax advance = tax rate × tax base minus monthly relief (if applicable), after rounding required by regulations.
  6. Net salary = gross minus employee's social security contributions minus health insurance contribution minus tax advance minus other deductions (e.g. PPK, voluntary).
Net → gross (iterative approximation):

In the case of the opposite direction, we use iterative conversion. The calculator changes the gross amount so that, after deductions, the given net value is obtained within the given tolerance. Thanks to this, the result is consistent with the parameters of contributions and tax.

Employment contract and mandate

The employment contract standardly covers full social security contributions of the employee and the employer, as well as health insurance and tax advances. A mandate contract may have different contribution configurations depending on the status of the contractor. The calculator allows you to set the required contributions and tax-deductible costs according to the selected scenario.

B2B model - simplified approach

In the B2B model, net is often understood as the amount after tax and entrepreneur's contributions. In the calculator, you enter monthly revenues, costs and parameters of tax and contributions. The tool calculates the result after paying contributions and tax, and allows comparison to the UoP simulation.

Employer's total cost

The calculator can calculate the employer's total cost. This is the sum of gross remuneration and contributions financed by the employer. Components and rates are configurable and depend on the selected contract type.

How to use the calculator - quick steps

Step 1 - select the mode

Select the conversion direction: gross to net or net to gross. Indicate the type of contract: employment contract, mandate contract or B2B. If you count the employer's costs, activate the appropriate option.

Step 2 - enter amounts and parameters

Enter the gross or net amount. Adjust your tax deductible costs, tax relief and contributions. If necessary, select PPK or additional deductions.

Step 3 - check the breakdown of components

After conversion, you will see the amounts of individual contributions, the tax advance and the net result. The employer's cost with a breakdown on the employer's financing side is also available.

Step 4 - compare scenarios

Copy the results and compare different settings: different costs of obtaining, no relief, gross to net ratio when changing the basis. The tool will quickly show the impact of changes on your payout.
