MAC Address Formatter

Paste a list of MAC addresses into any notation and the tool will reduce them to a single, consistent format. It supports colons, dashes, Cisco notation and a string without separators, with the ability to change case, remove duplicates and work in strict mode.

Why unify MAC addresses?

The MAC (Media Access Control) address is a 48-bit unique identifier for the network card written as 12 hexadecimal digits. In practice, different systems write it differently: Windows uses dashes, Cisco devices use dot notation, and many Linux tools use colons. When you import addresses into an ACL, a router's MAC filter, a surveillance system, or an inventory spreadsheet, inconsistent entries cause matching errors and duplicates. Format unification eliminates these problems in seconds.

How the tool works

Paste as many addresses as you want - each on a new line or mixed in the text. Select the target separator format and letter case. Strict mode discards fragments that are not the full 12-character MAC address, and the dedupe option leaves only unique entries. The result is displayed in a text field ready to be copied with one click. Everything is counted in your browser on the server side without saving data.

Frequently asked questions

What MAC address formats do you support?

The four most popular ones: with colons (00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E), with dashes (00-1A-2B-3C-4D-5E), Cisco notation with dots (001A.2B3C.4D5E), and a string without separators (001A2B3C4D5E). Regardless of the input format, we will reduce the addresses to the notation you choose.

What is strict mode?

In strict mode, we only accept valid, complete MAC addresses of 12 hexadecimal characters. Any incomplete or invalid strings are skipped and counted as invalid. Disable this mode if you want the tool to try to recover the address from noisier text.

Are my MAC addresses saved somewhere?

No. We process data only for the purpose of generating a result and do not store it on the server. MAC addresses may be considered personal data within the meaning of the GDPR, therefore they do not enter any database or application logs.

Can I process multiple addresses at once?

Yes. Paste the entire list - one address per line or mixed in the content. The tool will catch all valid addresses, optionally remove repetitions and return them in one, consistent format.
