Other tools you may find usefulFirst Player Draw
A fair and quick way to select the first player in a board or card game. Enter the names of the participants, select the draw mode and click - the tool will quickly indicate who starts and suggests the order of turns throughout the game.
What is
used for The tool solves one of the most common problems in board games - who starts? Instead of rolling dice or guessing, enter the names of all players and you will find out who is running in a split second. Additionally, the tool generates asuggested turn orderfor the entire game. It is useful for Catan, Ticket to Ride, 7 Wonders of the World, Azul, Wingspan, UNO cards or any other game where a fair start is important.
How to use
Enter player names, each on a separate line. Selectdraw modedraw mode: wheel of fortune (cryptographically random), deterministic (same combination returns the same player - useful for repetition), or deck of cards (each player will be drawn once before the cycle repeats). Also choose what theturn ordershould look like: from the winner, randomly or as entered. Click"Random!"and you're done - you'll see a large first player card and a numbered turn order list.
Random modes - which one to choose?
The tool offers three approaches to suit different situations:
- Wheel of Fortune- uses a cryptographically secure random number generator (
random_int). Each click gives a different result. Perfect for standard gameplay. - Deterministic (seeded)- Provide any "seed" (word or phrase) and the result will always be the same for the same list of players and seeds. Helpful when you want to recreate the result or arrange the order in advance.
- Deck of Cards- Each player is drawn exactly once per cycle before the wheel repeats. The tool remembers the state of your deck between rounds - perfect for a tournament or series of games.
Turn order throughout the game
In addition to selecting the first player, the tool generates the fullsuggested turn order. You have three options: the order starts with the winner and continues in the order in which the players were entered, everyone is drawn from scratch, or the original order from the list is kept. The result is clearly visible as a numbered list of cards - you can copy it with one click and paste it into your group chat.
FAQ
Is the draw really fair?
Yes - Wheel of Fortune mode uses therandom_int()PHP function, which uses a cryptographically secure source of system entropy (CSPRNG). No one player has a statistical advantage.
How many players can I add?
The tool supports from 2 to 60 players. Enter each name on a separate line. You can also separate them with a comma or semicolon - the tool will automatically recognize and separate them.
What is "deck of cards" mode and what is it for?
The deck of cards is a no-repeat system - each player is drawn exactly once before the cycle begins again. It is useful, for example, in series of games where you want everyone to have the same number of starts. The tool generates a deck status code that you can paste in the next time you draw to pick up where you left off.
